I did it! I actually did it!
Woohoo!!!
I have to say, I had some serious doubts I would ever accomplish this. Busiest week of the year, fighting the start of a cold, feeling physically exhausted and emotionally drained. Not the best way to prepare myself for my first 5 km race. I had so much going against me. When I went to bed last night (at midnight – sigh!), I honestly didn’t know if I’d have the energy to run, nor the time to do it. SO much going on!
Strangely enough though, I woke up at 7:58 this morning, feeling alert and decently well rested. I hadn’t decided to run yet, but I also hadn’t ruled it out completely. First thing first, I had breakfast. A half an hour later, I was ready to go. Ready to run. Wow, really? Are we really doing this?
Alright, let’s go.
And I went. I ran. I ran my heart out. I felt like I was flying! I really wasn’t though, ha! I was going MUCH slower than I want to, but that’s OK. I was RUNNING. And I was feeling GREAT!
For the first time ever, I ran a whole 5 km without feeling like I was going to die! I didn’t whine or complain. At all. That’s a first!
I wish I had a photo finish to show you. Or even a medal to prove I completed the race. Sadly enough, I don’t. An online global 5 km race is just not the type of race you sign up for when you’re hoping to get a medal at the finish line. Maybe next time!
All I have to show you is a selfie taken at the end of my run. A photo showing you how proud and excited I am that I have accomplished what I thought to have been the impossible. Now I know, it’s definitely possible.
I did it!
Ha, and I kinda look like a bobble head in this picture! I’m having the best day!
YESSSSSS!!! Awesome so proud of you! I may not “know” you but I seriously got so excited for you reading this! Thank you so much for sharing!
