Since Halloween is fast approaching, I thought it would be fun for our family to go completely “bat” crazy. Yup, we will try to do as many “batty” things as we possibly can before Halloween is here. Today, we made a bat craft using toilet paper rolls. Here’s what we did…
We started out by collecting our supplies.
- black, red and white paint
- toilet paper rolls
- white glue
- googly eyes
- black construction paper
The first thing you do is fold down the top into two halves to make the ears. Once that’s done, paint the whole thing black.
Once the paint has completely dried, glue on the eyes and paint a red smile and two white pointy teeth. We are making a vampire bat after all, can’t forget those teeth! Be creative. One of my kids added a big red nose on his. I think it looks awesome!!!
Then fold a black piece of construction paper in half and cut yourself a nice pair of bat wings. Glue them on the back and let it dry. And voilà, you have yourself a pretty cute (or scary, if that’s what you’re going for) bat!
Have fun getting all batty…
